November 10…

The Bosque del Apache refuge is located in south-central New Mexico, on the banks of the Rio Grande River. In addition to the many bird species seen here, it also has resident elk, and an occasional mountain lion is seen. There are currently over 22,000 snow geese, and about 3000 sandhill cranes, with hundreds more coming in daily. They recharge their batteries here and start to replenish their reserves for their flight north in the spring.
