En politimann og to marinesoldater ble skutt av en mann med et kraftig våpen i morgentimene torsdag. Få detaljer er kjent foreløpig.
At least one police officer and two Marines were shot this morning, after a gunman opened fire on military recruitment offices and a U.S. Naval Reserve Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Witnesses said they saw a single man fire a high-powered rifle at a military office in a strip mall from a convertible silver Mustang, before speeding away, around 10:50am.
The FBI and ATF dispatched agents to the scene and Homeland Security and the Pentagon said they were aware of the situation. President Obama has also been briefed on the incident. The shooting comes at a time of heightened security following terror warnings issued ahead of the Fourth of July weekend.
Few details have been released about the shooting so far, but Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke tweeted around 11:30am: ‘Horrific incident in our community. We will release details as they are confirmed. Prayers to all those affected’.
