Politi stormet inn i den palestinske nasjonalforsamlingen mandag og forlangte at myndighetene setter Hamas på plass. En politioffiser ble skutt av Hamas i Gaza søndag. Nasjonalforsamlingen krevde at Mohammed Abbas avsetter regjeringen, som er fullstendig ineffektiv overfor Hamas.

Politiet stoppet en bil full av Hamas-folk søndag, som viftet med våpen. Det er inngått avtale om at våpen ikke skal vises offentlig. Politifolkene ville håndheve forbudet. I stedet ble en politikommandant drept, og Hamas forsøkte å storme en politistasjon. Flere sivile ble såret.

«We are on the verge of civil war if the situation re2_kommentars out of control,» said Qaddoura Fares, a reformist legislator with Abbas’s 2_kommentarstream Fatah movement.
