Krekar watch

Norway has asked the U.S. to assist with evidence against Mullah Krekar, the former leader of Ansar al-Islam, to bolster the case against Krekar in Norway, according to Newsweek sources. U.S. officials are frustrated that Ansar’s prewar leader, an imam known as Mullah Krekar, is free in Oslo, even though the Norwegians have filed criminal and immigration charges against him. Norwegian prosecutors decline to comment on the investigation.
