In some Norwegian media I recall a statement or article – I can’t really recall precisely. It was from a refugee/immigrant from Africa I believe – exclaiming “Norway has destroyed me”.

I remember reading many of the comments below the article/statement. They were 100 % negative – you can imagine the labels and advices this man was given.

I totally agree with him – and I totally disagree with the commentators.

A day at school

Children walk into the classroom – sits down at their desk – and respectfully look at and listen to their teacher. A Moslem man, maybe bearded, looking menacing at his young pupils. This might be the scene at an Iraqi or Syrian school. The teacher commands respect – he’s from an honour culture – and the children knows that. He is armed – in an honour culture he gains respect if he shows anger to the pupils – he has violence at his disposal and the pupils know.

And they learn.

The learn to read and write, they learn about history and religion and science – and they have a future. They can be doctors or teachers or any skill they like and are fit for – and dream of. But this is only possible because they are educated in the same culture they belong to – honour culture – where the adult teacher knows “the game” – and have no problem controlling his pupils.

A night at school

Move said class to Sweden. A country importing 100,000 people from honour cultures every year.

Some children walk into the classroom – many are late or don’t show up at all – they start start playing with their mobiles, or chat to the pupil at the next desk. Some fight and argue. The swedish teacher stands at the desk – impotent and without any tools to control children from an honour culture. He can never raise his voice or use violence – he has no control of his class. He tries to teach a few girls who want to learn – and gives up on the rest.

And the children learn nothing.

In some years they will leave school – quite possibly illiterate. And the Sweden who invited them there – and destroyed their lives – can offer them no jobs – as they are not qualified for anything – they are broken people with no place in a high-tech country.

And cars burn.

And angry – misplaced – youths throw stones at police and emergency services – representatives of the state which – with absence of malice – ruined their young lives.
