The terrorism threat to Europe is serious and not limited to countries like Britain, Denmark and Italy which support the U.S.-led war in Iraq, the EU’s top terrorism official said on Friday.
European Union Counter-Terrorism Coordinator Gijs de Vries said the 25-nation bloc swung into action immediately after Thursday’s attacks in London by sharing sensitive intelligence and drafting a joint analysis of the terrorism threat.
«The threat to Europe re2_kommentars serious and it re2_kommentars only too real and it does not restrict itself to countries that have troops in Iraq,» he told reporters.
«There isn’t a single country in Europe that consider itself immune to this type of risk. We have to live with the fact that this is a very real threat and it is likely to be with us for a considerable period of time,» de Vries said.(reuters)
