Irans «moderate» president Mohammad Khatami er redd for at fredsprisvinner Shirin Ebadi skal «misbruke» nobelprisen. Khatami blir sitert av det tyske nyhetsbyrået dpa tirsdag:

«Mrs. Ebadi comes from a religious family and I hope she will consider the interests of Iran and the Islamic world and not allow any misuse of the prize», Khatami was quoted by IRAN as saying.
…..»Every Iranian, including me, is happy about this achievement by an Iranian but all Nobel peace prize winners should also expose the real violators of peace and human rights in the world», Khatami said and named the United States and Israel in this context.

Khatami demper betydningen av fredsprisen:

«The Nobel Peace Prize is not that important, the awards for literature and science are more important.» (reuters)
