Document.no bygger opp Document.news – en nettside med langsiktig mål om å presentere norske og nordiske nyheter, artikler, TV-intervjuer og dokumentarer for et engelskspråklig publikum.

Vi ønsker å gjøre Documents perspektiver, analyser og kunnskap mer synlige i større land med en fortsatt levende, konservativ og opplyst presse – og samtidig vise at det finnes et bredere og mer internasjonalt meningsmangfold i Norge og Norden enn det som kommer til uttrykk bak det statsfinansierte nordiske pressejernteppet.

Lørdag morgen ønsket Document velkommen tilbake til Carl Schiøtz Wibye, for første gang på Document.news.

Med sin bakgrunn som diplomat i Sentral-Europa, på Balkan og i Midtøsten (inkludert som Norges ambassadør i Saudi-Arabia 2009–2014), har Wibye skrevet flere innsiktsfulle bøker, som Et vaklende Europa og Terrorens rike.

I dette intervjuet dukker vi ned i hans erfaringer fra regionen, med særlig vekt på de brutale overgrepene mot iranske demonstranter, fordrivelsen av kurdere fra den syriske, tyrkisk-støttede regjeringshæren, og effekten det kan ha på regionen og Vesten.

Document.no is building Document.news – a website with the long-term goal of presenting Norwegian and Nordic news, articles, TV interviews, and documentaries to an English-speaking audience.

We aim to make Document’s perspectives, analyses, and knowledge more visible in larger countries that still maintain a vibrant, conservative, and enlightened press – while also demonstrating that there exists a broader and more internationally oriented diversity of opinion in Norway and the Nordic region than what is expressed behind the state-funded Nordic media iron curtain.

On Saturday morning, Document welcomed back Carl Schiøtz Wibye to the studio – for the first time on Document.news.

With his background as a diplomat in Central Europe, the Balkans, and the Middle East (including as Norway’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia from 2009 to 2014), Wibye has authored several insightful books, such as Et vaklende Europa (A Faltering Europe) and Terrorens rike (The Kingdom of Terror).

In this interview, we dive into his experiences from the region, with particular emphasis on the brutal abuses against Iranian demonstrators, the displacement of Kurds by the Syrian, Turkish-backed government forces, and the potential impact this could have on the region and the West.
