Prime Minister Ariel Sharon Thursday slammed right-wing extremists for using violence in their campaign against the disengagement plan, calling them «radical gangs» that will be handled «with an iron fist.»
Sharon told the Caesarea Economic Forum: «I make an absolutely clear distinction between [the wide settler public] and those radical gangs that try to terrorize Israeli society and tear it apart with acts of violence against Jews and Arabs, hurting the feelings of Muslims and their symbols, bullying and refusing orders. This is not the way of Judaism. This is not the way of the settlement movement. This is not the way of Israel,» he said.
