The Egyptian newspaper Al Youm A Sabe reports on Hamas’s five demands (Arabic link) for a permanent ceasefire.

  1. Opening all the passages to the Gaza Strip.
  2. Opening of the Rafah border crossing to Egypt within 24 hours, and with international guarantees that it will not be closed.
  3. The opening of naval access to Gaza.
  4. Allowing Gaza’s residents to pray without restrictions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
  5. Release of the prisoners who were originally released in the Shalit deal and were rearrested in recent weeks in the West Bank.

According to the paper, the negotiations over the ceasefire are stuck. Israel refuses to release the prisoners or allow Gazans access to the mosque in Jerusalem.
