Hanne Tolg I bydelen Richmond i Melbourne i Australia barket anti-islam grupper og venstreradikale sammen på søndag. The United Patriots Front hadde arrangert en marsj for å demonstrere mot sharia-lover og islamisering av Australia. Venstreaktivister iverksatte straks en motdemonstrasjon, og det tok 100 politi for å hindre dem i å angripe den opprinnelige demonstrasjonen.
Motprotestantene ropte «fuck off fascists» og ‘you’ll always lose in Melbourne’.
A Victoria Police spokesman said officers were in place to maintain community safety.
‘Victoria Police respects the right of the community to express their views peacefully and lawfully, but will not tolerate those who break the law ‘ a statement said.
Ridende opprørspoliti var også på plass.
