Tirsdag kommer en ny grooming-sak for retten i Leeds. 39 menn og tre kvinner, de fleste fra området Kirklees i Yorkshire, er siktet. Overgrepene skal ha skjedd mot seks mindreårige jenter i årene 1995–2015, rapporterer BBC. Listen over de siktede er megetsigende lesning.

BBC bruker ikke ordet grooming i sin korte nyhetssak. Begrepet som brukes, er «child sexual exploitation (CSE)», eller på norsk: seksuell utnyttelse av barn.

Kirklees ligger i samme urbane område som Huddersfield og Leeds, der det også tidligere har vært en rekke tilfeller av overgrepssaker.

Det er liten tvil om at vi har å gjøre med nok et tilfelle av det parlamentsmedlemmet for Labour i Rotherham, Sarah Champion, kaller «et problem med britisk-pakistanske menn som voldtar og utnytter hvite jenter».

Listen over engelske lokalsamfunn hvor strafferetten settes inn mot pakistanske voldtektsgjenger, blir stadig lengre. Rotherham, Rochdale, Telford, Oxford … og nå altså Huddersfield. (Grooming-saker også i Huddersfield, Document 18.08.2018)
