Hanne Tolg BBC forteller idag at mannen kjent som Jihad-John heter Mohammed Emwazi. Han antas å være 26 år, født i Kuwait har vært bosatt i London. Han fremsto først på en video i august ifjor da han drepte den amerikanske journalisten James Foley.
Det er også Mohammed Emwazi som antas å ha utført drapene på Steven Sotloff, David Haines, Alan Henning og Peter Kassig.
Jihad-John også nå kjent som Mohammed Emwazi
Mohammed Emwazi skal ha studert ved Westminster University. I 2011 ble det fryktet at universitetet hadde blitt infiltert av islamister.
Friends of Emzawi told the Washington Post that he was raised in a middle class area of West London and studied computer programming at the University of Westminster.

A neighbour at the Levee House address said the family consisted of four children and two parents and they’d lived there for around four years. The father used to be a minicab driver.
The eldest son, in his 20s, has not been seen for several years.
The family are Arab and described as. «Nice and normal».
The women wear hijab (not niqab) and the men wear western dress.
Police knocked the family address this morning looking for them.
According to his own email, Jihadi John wrote he was 20 when he went to Tanzania in May 2009. That puts him at about 26 years old.

Kvinnene i familien brukte altså hijab, ikke niqab og de ble ansett for å være «nice and normal».
