“It has become clear that conducting the PGA Championship at Trump Bedminster would be detrimental to the PGA of America brand and would put at risk the PGA’s ability to deliver our many programs and sustain the longevity of our mission.”

En representant for Trumps golfbane i Bedminster uttrykker stor skuffelse.

“We have had a beautiful partnership with the PGA of America … This is a breach of a binding contract and they have no right to terminate the agreement,” the representative said.

“As an organisation we have invested many millions of dollars in the 2022 PGA Championship at Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster.

PGA-tourens boikott av Trump fikk dagen etter tilslutning fra Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews i Skottland:

Golf governing body the R&A followed suit on Monday, saying it would not stage championships at the Trump-owned Turnberry golf course for the foreseeable future.

The decision could be a blow to Trump, an avid golfer who has played with several current and former professional golfers, including all-time greats Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, and long desired to host a major at one of his courses.

Deutsche Bank AG and Signature Bank, two of Donald Trump’s favored lenders, are pulling away from the billionaire president in the wake of last week’s deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The German lender has decided not to conduct any further business with Trump and his company, said two people with knowledge of the matter, asking not to be identified because the deliberations were confidential.

Signature Bank, the New York lender that’s long catered to his family, is closing two personal accounts in which Trump held about $5.3 million, a spokesperson for the firm said on Monday. It’s also calling for the president to step aside before his term officially ends on Jan. 20.
