PARIS: A female French journalist is being expelled from Iraq, but the decision has yet to be formally announced by authorities here, the media rights group Reporters without Borders reported Tuesday.
Anne-Sophie Le Mauff contacted the group, known by its French acronym RSF, to inform them of the measure, adding: «Iraqi interior ministry officials explained that they were acting at the request of French authorities.»
RSF slammed what it called an unacceptable action against Le Mauff, «who has worked in Iraq for more than a year, in particular for the French dailies L’Humanite and Sud-Ouest, Radio Monte-Carlo, Radio Vatican and Radio Canada». (afp)
