Overgangsrådet har sendt opprørere inn i Tripoli og lagret kommunikasjonsutstyr og våpen. Kommunikasjonsutstyret kom fra britene.

I en tale lørdag kveld på opprørernes TV-kanal som sendes via Qatar, ble startskuddet til opprøret gitt.
