Hans Rustad Iranske ledere med Ali Khamenei i spissen fører et stadig mer aggressivt og truende språk overfor Vesten. Det er som man forbereder folk på konfrontasjoner.
Slik kan man også forstå den vanvittige påstanden om at det er USA og Israel som står bak bombene, kidnappingene og halshoggingene i Irak! Det er som man vil legitimere reaksjoner. Det er ikke bare medier, men den store leder selv som sier dette:
In comments made during a meeting with visiting Singaporean Prime Minister of Singapore Goh Chok Tong, Khamenei said: ‘We seriously suspect the agents of the Americans and Israelis in conducting such horrendous terrorist acts and cannot believe the people who kidnap Philippines nationals, for instance, or behead U.S. nationals are Muslims.'» (AP)
I en tale til innbyggerne i byen Hamedan 4. juli lovet Khamenei at Iran vil slå til også utenfor landets grenser.
» We, the Iranian people, within the borders of our country, will cut off any hand that harms our scientific, natural, human, or technological interests. We will cut off the hand that is sent to invade and work against our people’s interests. We will do this with no hesitation…. If the enemy has the audacity to harm and invade, our blows against it will not be limited to the borders of our country… If someone harms our people and invades [our country], we will endanger his interests anywhere in the world.»
Ordbruken er langt mer enn vanlig «bluster». Den er konkret og truende.
Avisen Kahyans fortolkning er skremmene: det kan ikke tolkes som annet enn en trussel om bruk av masseødeleggelsesvåpen:

Man kan lure på hva som foregår i ledernes hode, når de har gjenoppstartet atomprogrammet og bruker slik retorikk. Det vitner om en vilje til konfrontasjon. Etter 25 års revolusjon, styres Iran ut fra en form for islamfascisme?
